The Merrymeeting Lake Association is asking for your help!
We would like to purchase and install defibrillators at locations around the lake that can be accessed by the public 24/7. At times, ambulance responses can be extended due to Merrymeeting Lake’s rural location and for cardiac events, every minute counts when life-saving intervention is needed.
Early defibrillation can be critical to surviving sudden cardiac arrest, and providing access to these machines around Merrymeeting Lake could be a lifesaving measure. Our immediate goal is to purchase and locate six AEDs with heated/cooled cabinets at a cost of approximately $1,800 for each defibrillator/cabinet combination. There will be a minimal expense associated with annual maintenance of approximately $50.00 per unit per year. Installation costs will vary based on location specifics. These user-friendly devices can be operated by people with minimal or no training, and we hope to offer CPR training in the future to enhance everyone’s comfort with these devices.
