This Saturday, New Durham’s Building Inspector and head of Code Enforcement Scott LaCroix will share details of New Durham’s Septic Ordinance.
He’ll discuss the town’s plans to review homeowner septic certifications and enforce the ordinance requiring homeowners with failed certifications to remediate or replace their systems.
As he shared at the MMLA annual meeting earlier this month, the town will:
* Notify homeowners who do not have a recent septic certification on file
* Inform homeowners about how they can obtain a new certification (or send in missing certifications)
* Share the process for homes that fail their septic certification, including the cost of new systems and resources for obtaining a replacement system.
