Join us for Our Annual Meeting, 7/9/23!

Join us at our Annual Meeting on Sunday 7/9 for updates on current projects and info on the new initiatives we’re working on!

We’ll gather at 8:30 AM at the MMLA Clubhouse at Cove Cottages for refreshments and a chance to socialize.  The meeting will begin at 9:00 with a Zoom option available (details will follow) if you’re unable to join us in person.

Highlights will include a presentation from SELT on a new and exciting conservation project, and Scott LaCroix (Building Inspector/Code Enforcement Officer for the Town) will review and answer questions regarding the recently updated Septic regulations.

We will also be supporting the Loon Preservation Committee’s “Save a Loon” program by collecting old lead tackle at check-in.

Lead poisoning resulting from the ingestion of lead fishing tackle is by far the largest known killer of adult loons in the state and has been responsible for 39% of documented adult loon mortalities in New Hampshire since 1989. Lead sinkers and lead-headed jigs weighing one ounce or less (the sizes most often ingested by loons) have been illegal for sale and freshwater use in New Hampshire since 2016. Help us protect our loons by cleaning out your tackle box and bringing any lead tackle that you have to our meeting. The tackle will be transferred to the Loon Preservation Committee for proper disposal.

We look forward to seeing you at the meeting!
