Huggins Hospital, in cooperation with the Merrymeeting Lake Association, will offer a special training opportunity in CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and AED (automated external defibrillator) use. This is an important chance to improve the healthcare capabilities of our Merrymeeting community as well as to learn how to use in an emergency any of the eight AED devices conveniently installed around the lake.
The training will take place on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at the Education Skills Lab at Huggins Hospital in Wolfeboro. There will be 4 two-hour sessions with a maximum of 7 participants in each session. Times will be: 8am to 10am, 10:30am to 12:30pm, 1pm to 3pm, and 3pm to 5pm.
There is no charge for the training. Additionally, for a nominal fee of $25, participants who wish to be certified according to American Red Cross standards will receive a card. Payment may be made in cash or by check made out to “Huggins Hospital Education Department”.
Anyone interested in attending this course should send an email to mmla@mmlake.org with their name and contact information as well as their preference for one of the sessions.
These sessions are sponsored by the MMLA and are a benefit of membership. Members will be assigned first on a first-come, first-served basis with any remaining slots open to non-members. Participants will be notified of which session is scheduled for them. If only one person has signed up for a session, they will be requested to join another session.
