Have you always wondered about the history of Merrymeeting Lake?
Join New Durham’s town historian Catherine Orlowicz for a talk on the history of Merrymeeting Lake and River on Saturday, September 7 at 9:00 AM.
Cathy will take us on a historical journey from the 1700s to the 1960s, presenting historic photographs and maps of the lake and river.
Please bring any photographs you may have of old cottages or other lake memorabilia to share after the presentation. We will also discuss the possibility of collecting oral histories about “lake life” from the 1930s forward.
