Welcome to Merrymeeting Lake!

The mission of the Merrymeeting Lake Association is to preserve and protect the innate beauty, pristine quality, integrity, and value of Merrymeeting Lake and its surrounding watershed, with the goal of conserving this irreplaceable natural resource for future generations.


The MMLA strives to be a supportive, influential organization in the town of New Durham and state of New Hampshire.


Your membership in the MMLA supports:

  • Land Conservation– In partnership with SELT, since 2019 we have conserved over 3,500 acres of land around the lake Our goal is to protect 60% of the watershed by 2027!
  • Funding the Lake Host Staff to inspect watercraft at the public boat launch to prevent the introduction of invasive species.
  • Bi-Weekly Water Quality Testing by MMLA Volunteers and UNH
  • Defibrillators – In 2023, we placed eight defibrillators at key locations around the lake for community safety.
  •  CPR/AED Training for MMLA Members – Be on the lookout for our 2025 schedule.
  • MMLA Events -Including presentations, lake activities, socials, and the annual boat parage
  • Memberships and Support for NH Lakes Association, Loon Preservation Committee, SELT, Moose Mountains Regional
    Greenways and Lion’s Camp Pride
