Just checked the temp this morning, was 72 degrees 30 feet out and about 3 feet down.

Ours hit 77 this past weekend. With high temps forecast this week, perhaps we'll see 80?

81 at 8:30 tonight, 3 feet down under our dock. The weather for the next few days should keep it there or make it even higher!

The water temps have remained in the low 80's for the past few weeks.

81.7 yesterday afternoon, again 3' down under my dock on the east end.

I measured 71 this past, beautiful, warm Sunday. After the past few days it might even be higher. But I suspect we'll see the inevitable downward trend from this point forward....

Default Start of 2007 readings

38.1, east end of the lake, about 3' down, 3' offshore. I'll be able to get out deeper once my dock is in.

Outside temp currently 40, but rising fast.

Default A degree per day

Readings between 45 and 47 yesterday, higher later in the day. It's at 45 now early in the morning.

Seems to be coming up about a degree per day lately.

I'm sure the difference has something to do with the relatively shallow depths here on the eastern end of the lake coupled with the strong, warm sunshine of the past few days.

When the wind mixed things up on Saturday, it did drop some. But I've been getting consistent readings of about 59-60 for the past day.

Water temps consistently in the mid-sixties for the past week. Hit a high of 68 yesterday afternoon during the strong sunshine but quickly dropped back to 65 when the sun went down. 65.3 this morning.

Default 2007 water temperature gradient, 7/3/07

I've attached a Word file that shows our Tuesday water sampling temperature data. We measure the water temperature at the surface, and in 1 meter increments down to 15 meters. Thought maybe some of you might be interested. I guess the message here is, if you forget your cooler, just hang your sodas/beers on your anchor line at about 45 feet down and they'll get nice and cool really fast.
I went diving last Thursday and my computer read 43 degrees! Our refrigerator is set at 42.

Default Data from 7/31 and 8/14

Here are data from 2 more sampling days. I missed going out with the crew on 8/7
I hope you can read these files. When I try to read them after posting, I haven't been able to read them? The Webmaster is trying to figure out how I'm messing this up
If I can straighten the files out, I'll try to re-post them.

Scubadubadog,

You should be able to read the files now (everyone else should too). Let me know if you can't.

Default First reading of 08

Took my first readings of 08 yesterday. low to mid-50's early in the day, it almost hit 60 in the afternoon. But the latter was in a shallow area on a beautiful, warm, sunny day. I'm sure once the sun went down and the water mixed around, the low to mid-50's readings are more accurate.

I'll have my permanent setup in place next weekend.

I'm getting similar readings (low 50's) at the west end.

After getting readings in the mid-70's for most of this cool, rainy summer, I started seeing the decline during the past week or so.

Saw my first below 70 reading on the 10th. It then spent a week going above/below 70 depending on the time of day. Now it seems to be heading down with the very cold nights.

I guess summer is really over....

Default water temp

I got about 64 degrees on the 20th. There was a lot of steam rising from the lake the night before; and that's summer's warmth leaving the relatively warm lake into the cold atmosphere.
