Default Sharing thoughts on new development

Renovation of old camps is inevitable on MMLake not unlike what Lake Winnipesaukee has experienced. There are a few newer camps that are suitable for classic NH lake architecture that really deserve praise. The highest standard is the post and beam home on the island for sure. Some of the newer additions are just horrid - would you agree? Too bad the town of New Durham did not have the vision to establish rules that would preserve the natural beauty of the lake. Also want to cite that the influx of new owners has resulted in more drivers that think the lake road is a go-cart track with little regard for their neighbors safety. New Durham cops, all 5 of them, ought to do more than drive up and down the lake roads and start stopping speeders on South and North Shore Rds or some children or pets are going to get run over. Have a good 4th and I'd like to especially recognize our returning Afghanistan vets on Independence Day.

The New Durham Planning board had a meeting on Tuesday night where this topic as front and center. There are going to be a few public hearings on proposals on rules changes at the end of July and beginning of August. Once the details are known, I'll post them on the website.
