Default Lake Level

Looking at the web cam image this morning, the lake level appears to be very low.

That so? Has the Dam Bureau not yet started raising the lake level?

Right now, Winnipesaukee is higher than usual for this time of year. I suspect the same is true for Merrymeeting, especially after this weekend!

Any locals care to provide an update?

Default Lake Level

I was up to the lake last weekend and it is still low. It did come up about 4 or 5 inches when it rained a couple weeks ago. I suspect the Dam Bureau and/or F & G will get start to raise the level a bit after ice out. I think they want to keep the flooding down that occurred a few years back.

Default lake level

The lake level has come up to about where it is during a normal winter. It won't go up any more until they put more boards up at the dam. Not surprisingly, there is significantly more water going over the dam today and quite a bit coming in to the lake from the streams.

Winnipesaukee is at the highest level in more than a decade for this time of year, and that's before all today's rain flows in!

I don't think we need to worry about the lake level, except perhaps that it will be too high once again.

Ok folks, you can stop wishing for rain to fill the lake. I think we have enough!

Hoping we don't have a repeat of 2006. But with the rain forecast of the next few days, it's a concern.

So do you think we are going to have our third "100 year flood" within the span of four years
Mother nature has definitely thrown us a ton of extreme weather these last few years.

Default As of April 11

I was up to the lake this weekend and would say that it is 100% full. No flooding or docks under water and a good flow running over the dam.
